It’s been a lot of time since I started to focus on American base in Japan. Nowadays I often think about the reason why am interested in it. Then I remind my father had been living in America when he was young. This event wouldn’t show you just a personal story, but rather social and political one.

Born 1994, Kato received his BFA from Tama Art University in 2014, also studied at Hongik Art University in Korea through an exchange program in 2016. He currently studies in the Global Art Practice MFA program at Tokyo University of Arts. His work is mostly video of his interests in exploring relations between political or social issues and himself for finding out invisible power structure.
